Asian Fest
It was a beautiful, lively, day at the Indiana State Museum yesterday. There were three ethnic festivals happening simultaneously. We at Midwest Language Services, LLC enjoyed talking with many visitors and were mesmerized by the buzz of activity and of the costumes and giant dragon that we saw in the building.
Thank you, Jane Gehlhausen, for inviting us to be a part of this event. It was very well organized and a great success. We enjoyed meeting everyone and learned so much!

We are offering an interpreter training workshop in Palliative Care on Saturday, May 12, 2018 from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The location may change, depending on the number of students. The deadline to enroll is April 23, 2018.

Description
This is a workshop for interpreters in health care. Help improve your understanding of content and vocabulary you may encounter in palliative care, as it is a rapidly expanding area of medicine
There are three areas in which you may grow:
help optimize the quality of life for patients with serious illness
expand your knowledge
improve both your interpreting skills and your comfort level with palliative care settings
Training will be given by Liz Essary.

We currently have a limited number of private lessons and group classes available, but this is about to change very soon, as we have just hired a new English Language Instructor.
Kyla Decker lived in Ecuador for nine years and has taught both English as a Second Language and Visual Arts there. She is fluent in English and Spanish. Visit our site regularly to find and register for our upcoming classes.

Midwest Language Services, LLC currently provides in-person interpreting services and also over-the-phone interpreting in over 200 languages. We are looking to add video relay interpreting (VRI) in the near future.

Celebrating 13 Years in Business!
December 2018 marks Midwest Language Services, LLC's 13th year in business. Originally started as an English tutoring service in 2004, MLS has expanded its services to include translating and interpreting for non-profits, IT, legal, medical, and industrial clients.
Midwest Language Services has grown from having a few individual and corporate clients in south central Indiana to having clients located internationally. Adult students from Brazil, China, Colombia, France, India, Japan, Poland, Mexico, and Turkey have taken lessons in English conversation, grammar, and accent training. Some continue to take lessons with MLS online after returning to their home country.
The staff at Midwest Language Services, LLC looks forward to continued growth in the number of requests for document translations, interpreting services, and TOEIC training and testing. The menu of services in 2018 will expand to include more group language classes and interpreter training workshops, among other services.
