This class is for students who are at an intermediate level of English (Level B1 or B2 or above) on the CEFRL scale.

Business Japanese - Ongoing, Online Classes

Business Japanese (Eight one-hour lessons) No prior Japanese needed.

Lesson one: Greetings /Introducing yourself / Meishi Koukan/ Business etiquette

Learn some greetings you can use on any trip to Japan. Learn to introduce yourselves, exchange business cards, and basic business etiquette

Lesson two: Talking about objects /How to order in shop / Business negotiation culture

Learn how to talk about objects. Use “to be”, learn some basic adjectives. Some tips on business negotiation.

Lesson three: Talking about prices /How to order in shop / Eating etiquette

Learn how to say numbers and money. Learn how to order in shop / Eating manners

Lesson four: Talking about appointments / Learning time / How to apologize

Learn how to make and confirm appointments, learn time, and how to apologize if you are running late or person does not show up.

Lesson five: Talking about one’s upcoming day / How to invite someone

Learn how to have a basic conversation about what you will do the upcoming day. Learn basic verbs and adjectives. Learn how to invite someone to an outing

Lesson six: Talking about the past / how to express opinion

Learn how to discuss how something went. Learn past tense both vebs and adjectives. Learn how to express one’s opinion in way that is not offensive

Lesson seven: How to get around/ Taking public transportation

Learn how to take a taxi. Learn how to ask train station employees for help.

Lesson eight: Making a presentation and giving feedback

Wrap up your course by making your own business presentation. Practice three questions and answers.

Arabic for Beginners

-An Acclerated and Intensive Course - December 4 thru January 16 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays

Did you know that Arabic is the fifth most spoken language in the world and one of six official languages of the United Nations?

Now is your chance to learn basic Arabic, including the history, alphabet, basic words and phrases, and more. The Arabic alphabet follow a pattern and the writing is from right to left. Each letter is written differently, depending on whether the letter is in the beginning (right), middle, or end (left) of the word.

This class will meet twice per week for one hour and thirty minutes per class.

The class will meet for on both Tuesdays and Wednesdays for six weeks from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM (not including December 25 and 26, 2018) for a total of 18 hours.
